Award winning entertainment marketing agency NuContext Creative has conceived, written, directed and produced an on-air campaign promoting superstar Taylor Swift’s three part TV special entitled “Taylor Swift’s Journey to Fearless,” which chronicles the making of the singer’s tour and which aired Oct. 22-24 on The Hub cable television network. Angela Guice, Founder/Producer, NuContext Creative, made the announcement.
Taylor Swift’s three part special includes narratives with the popular singer, along with backstage footage. Swift’s “Fearless” won the 2010 Grammy Award for “Album of the Year,” and is one of the most awarded albums in country music history.
Described as “A fun destination that brings kids and their families together to enjoy clever stories and engaging characters in new and classic comedies, animated adventures, movies, and live-action shows,” The Hub TV Channel, a joint venture between Discovery Communications and Hasbro, Inc., recently launched in 60 million households.
To promote the Taylor Swift special, NuContext, under the creative direction of Guice, developed the concept, wrote the scripts, undertook the art direction, secured the location, directed and produced the entire promo campaign. In addition, the company also shot Swift against green-screen, and provided the compositing in post. NuContext ultimately delivered an event sell promo, several tune-in promos, and a number of countdown spots and bumpers.
Susan Hunter, Senior Writer/Producer, On-Air Promotions for The Hub, said, “The NuContext shoot with Taylor Swift was a real hit! We have nothing but accolades and appreciation for the wonderful job that Angela and her team did for us on such short notice. They made the entire process very smooth and easy. Angela and NuContext rock even more than Taylor Swift!”
Adds Guice, “It was truly exciting for us to be able to participate in the launch of a major new cable network! We were called in for this project on a Thursday evening, and by that Saturday morning, we’d developed the concept, written a dozen scripts, found a great location, determined the art direction, and began shooting. This entire project was on an incredible fast track, which was a real challenge, but working with Susan Hunter and The Hub team, we were in great company with wonderful creative partners and collaborators.”
“I happened to have worked with Taylor about four years ago on a project for Lifetime,” Guice continues, “and when I saw her again recently for The Hub shoot, I was delighted that she actually remembered me! She is just as sweet and sincere today as she was years back, when she was just beginning her journey to superstardom. She is a true talent and a joy to work with.”
